Below are several samples of work I have done over the past couple years. For most samples, you can read about the piece, preview it, and/or view the entire document as an Adobe PDF.
SUTAINABILITY THROUGH WRITING WEBSITE
[Preview-See Website] This website was created in Summer 2009 for my former professional writing instructor, Dr. LeeAnne Kryder. I used a CSS template to create a site which would suite the right audiences looking for information on the annual Sustainability Through Writing Contest. This site attacts primarily students, educators, and potential donors to the program.
HEAL BROCHURE
[Preview-PDF 279 KB] This brochure was created in March 2009 for the Healthy Eating and Living (HEAL) Internship program at UCSB. I created this piece to inform potential intern applicants about the details and benefits of the program.
WRITING CONTEST FUNDRAISING LETTER
[Preview-PDF 81 KB] I wrote this letter at the request of Dr. LeeAnne Kryder who sought funding for an annual contest for the UCSB Writing Program. As an experienced writing student and a true believer in the merits of the writing program, I choose a sensible candidate for the donation and wrote an appeal to his generosity.
VOLUNTOUR PRINT AD
[Preview-PDF 284 KB] This print ad was created in October 2008 for a Marketing and Media Writing class at UCSB. I created this piece to advertise to newlyweds a volunteer-vacation ("voluntour") in New Orleans.
MICROSOFT OFFICE 2007 DOCUMENTATION
[Preview-PDF 176 KB] This technical document about using Microsoft Outlook was created for the IT department at Direct Relief International. I created about three dozen similar documents to ease DRI employees into the Office 2007 software transition.
UCSB SUSTAINABILITY WEBPAGE PROTOTYPES
[Preview-PDF 257 KB] I created these prototypes from the vision of a team of students redeigning the UCSB Sustainability website at the request of the Coordinator. In addition to a written report about our research, findings, and suggestions for the new site, we included these visual examples of the homepage and an internal page.
E-COALITION BROCHURE
[Preview-PDF 355 KB] This brochure was created in April 2009 to advertise to students the different programs on campus with an interest in ecological sustainability. Due to the number of such programs, the brochure highlights brief descriptions and information to learn more.
